Infra-red and near infra-red saunas have many benefits for your body. Not only are they relaxing, but they also help to rid your body of toxins, relieve pain and improve circulation and healing.

We have two kinds of saunas at Bounce Matters. There are some details below, but just ask if you’d like more information to find the right one for you.

Infra-red Sauna

Relaxing in a sauna is one of the best ways to open your pores and eliminate toxins. A traditional sauna uses fire, gas or electricity to heat the air around you. An infra-red sauna heats the body directly through the use of infrared lamps. This means the air in an infra-red sauna is drier, the heating is slower, and the temperatures not as high, so it’s a much more comfortable experience for you.

Infra-red saunas are 7 to 10 times more effective than traditional saunas, allowing you to produce sweat that contains 20% toxins versus only 3% in a traditional sauna.

Step inside your own tranquil space and enjoy the benefits
of infra-red saunas, which include:

Detoxification | Weight loss | Improved sleep, Anti-ageing and skin health
Lower blood pressure | Immune boosting | Pain relief for muscles and joints
Improved circulation | Stress reduction

Incandescent Sauna

An incandescent or near infra-red sauna produces the shortest infrared wavelength, which penetrates the skin’s surface more effectively. It’s ideal for reducing pain and inflammation quickly but the heat is more intense than our infra-red sauna.

Incandescent saunas are ideal for:

Raising your core body temperature | Improving circulating
Cell health | Tissue growth | Wound healing | Pain relief and relaxation

Frequently asked questions

What are infra-red saunas?

Infra-red saunas use infra-red lamps to heat the body. The invisible wavelengths penetrate into your body to relax muscles, relieve pain, and improve circulation and healing. The heating is different to that of a traditional sauna (which heats the air around you) so it’s a much more comfortable experience.

Why should I use an infra-red sauna?

Not only are infra-red saunas relaxing, but they can also help with a range of concerns including:

- Detoxification
- Pain and wound healing
- Weight loss
- Stress relief and mental health
- Improved circulation
- Skin health

How often should I use an infra-red sauna?

How often you use an infra-red sauna depends on what you’re hoping to achieve. Like anything new, you should slowly increase your time spent in a sauna. Start with once or twice a week and then you can build up to everyday, if you’d like.

Can I sauna with a friend?

Yes, our infra-red sauna is a 3-person unit but it’s most comfortable with 1 or 2 people. Our incandescent sauna is definitely an individual experience, though. Just let us know when booking.

Are the sauna rooms private?

Rest assured, your sauna space is completely private. You will be allocated your room for the full length of your visit, with space to store your personal items.

What’s the size difference between saunas?

Our infra-red saunas are large enough to comfortably fit one or two people. Our incandescent saunas are smaller, perfect for one person.

What should I wear to my sauna session?

Your sauna experience is 100% private so you can wear whatever you’d like – including just your underwear. Many people like to wear a swimsuit. Everyone should sit on a towel during their session.

What should I bring with me?

Bring along a towel if you’d like a shower afterwards, change of clothes and a water bottle. Your toiletries can also help make your shower afterwards more comfortable. You might like to bring along your favourite book or magazine as well.

Who should be careful when using an infra-red sauna?

Infra-red saunas are not for everyone. If you’re unsure, check with us first. We advise caution if you are:

- Under 18 years old
- Over 55 years old
- Have cardiovascular conditions
- Prone to bleeding
- Pregnant
- Suffering from a chronic health condition

How are the saunas cleaned?

Saunas are cleaned after each use using non-toxic antibacterial products. Infra-red lighting and heat are also natural disinfectants.

Do you have shower facilities?

Yes, we have shower facilities on site if you’d like to take a shower after your session. However, your body continues to sweat for up to 30 mins after an infra-red sauna session, so we’d suggest waiting at least this long before showering.
