Functional Pathology
& Diagnostic Testing
Much of the testing available through your GP or western medicine specialist is lacking in detail. Sadly, this testing is performed to check if you are broken or need medication, not to detect if you are operating at an optimal level.
Why do we use functional diagnostic testing
We use functional diagnostic testing to identify complex chronic disorders and imbalances, where we consider the relationship between the biochemical processes of the body and the way they impact on each other.
For instance, dietary imbalance can cause hormonal disturbances. We connect you to a partner GP to organise the tests Medicare will cover, and then we can organise any other testing separately. Once we have determined the underlying triggers of dysfunction, we can create an individualised treatment approach.
For specific issues, we now offer a single diagnostic test with a 30min consultation where we explain your results, the key issues and basic protocol on what to do.
Some of our most regularly recommended testing includes
Gut, digestion and microbiome mapping
Food allergy and intolerances
Adrenal (stress) and reproductive (sex) hormonesFood allergy and intolerances
Extensive thyroid panels
Mycotox – mould exposure for CIRS (chronic inflamatory response syndrome)
Urinary amino acids
Neurotransmitters (brain chemistry)
Cytokines (inflammatory & immune markers)
Heavy metal and mineral levels and Omega 3 to 6 ratios
